Hi. I am John Fort and welcome to my blog.
This is a place for me to share my thoughts and ideas from what I’ve learned through my personal life and also through reading.
I am also a woodworker. My passion lies in designing and creating furniture and teaching people how to create beautiful furniture from scratch. I am at peace when I’m in the workshop making things.

Woodworking Instructor at Tombalek
(2018 – 2021)
I designed and built wooden furniture. My favorite part was teaching people how to use the machinery to create one of a kind furniture that they could bring home and I was good at it.
Costume Assistant at Big Red Button
(2017 – 2017)
I was in charge of getting the costumes ready for the shoot. I was also an errand boy for the set.
Carpenter at Vertical Submarine
(2016 – 2017)
This was the first gig that paid me to build installation artworks right out of art school. I created custom artworks and installation pieces for the artist collective Vertical Submarine.
